We stood in line for 1 hour and 20 minutes to ride our new commuter train to SLC last weekend. After driving past the station for a year now, it was so exciting to be part of the kick off celebration. We joked with all the new friends we made in line that we were so metropolitan now that we had a train AND three buildings over 10 stories tall. It was a perfect kick off to the Christmas season. We saw the lights at Temple Square and it even snowed on us. Plus, as a bonus, my sister took the light rail from her house to join us. (Thanks for taking this picture!) The whole excursion was completely FREE. It was free ride day for the train, the light rail from the train station was within the free fare zone, and when we got off at the final stop, there was a crew from Chick-fil-A that handed out free chicken sandwiches to everyone walking past. Free concerts all around Temple Square, too. It's beginning to look a lot like Christm...
