Some Losses, but Mostly Gains
The last few weeks have been a whirlwind of activity. We've celebrated together as we've had losses and gains , both happy and sad. We celebrated Dillon getting accepted into BYU by eating Y pizza and blue Y cheesecake and learning the Cougar Fight Song, an important rite of passage (though all my kids despise me for making them learn it). We've gained another cougar in the family!! We celebrated amazing science as Ian took first in the Elementary level district STEM fair and Lizzie (& her friend) took 2nd in the Secondary level district STEM fair. They were both honored at last week's school board meeting, splurging on "Taco Tuesday" tacos immediately afterward. This is a big gain for our family because in all the years of competition, NO ONE from our family has ever won anything from our district fair. We may have lost the blessing of Grandpa in our earthly lives, but we gained so many memories and opportunities to enjoy family ...
