We're all a little Nutty

4000 miles, 57 bug bites (estimating), 16 days, 13 states, 7 campsites, 6 hotels, 5 national parks, 3 rental cars, 3 people (most of the time), 3 Great Lakes, 2 tents, 2 UNESCO heritage sites, 2 border crossings, 1 Derecho wind storm, 1 flight, 1 riverboat cruise, 1 wagon ride, ZERO injuries or accidents (or ticks), and SO many Walmarts and gas stations later, we have returned from an epic summer adventure.   Our trip gave us time to reflect.  Sometimes in artistic ways.  Sometimes in somber ways. We spent a day with Mckay in Chicago. "Word of Life" Mural at Notre Dame (aka "Hail Mary Jesus") Gateway Arch (at sunset) in St. Louis, Missouri Carthage Jail in Carthage, Illinois pond by our campground in Nauvoo, Illinois pond where we camped in Cozad, Nebraska New River in West Virginia Middle Fork of the Red River in Kentucky We relied on our "suitcase pantry" for most of our meals.  But the "kitchen" was different each time. Walmart was our favorit...
