We're all a little Nutty

Ian is at a stage where most of my communication with him begins with, "Hurry! 5...4...3...2...1." Unless my request involves giving gifts or food. This is especially part of our bedtime routine. Anyway, today I overheard a conversation that busted me up and reminded me that our kids mimic just about everything we do and say...with their own twist sometimes. Someone barged into the bathroom while someone else was in there. The sibling who had been violated said nothing but this: "GET OUT! 0...-1...-2!" I'm sure the violator was clueless to the clever countdown, but it sure made ME smile!

Ian : Mom, does the monster in the Matterhorn sleep there at night? Me : Yes, he stays there, but he's not real. He's just a puppet. Ian : No he's not, mom. He's real. Me : He moves and makes sounds, but he's just a puppet. You know, like Big Bird or Oscar. Ian : No mom. He's real. His feet are glued to the ground, so he can't get you, but he's real. Me : (Why am I even bothering having this argument??) It may seem that way, but he is just a puppet. Cool that he seems real but he isn't huh? Ian : M O M. I know more than you. You are wrong. How did I get such stubborn, sassy kids??

We went to Disneyland for Spring Break. We are not Disney fanatics, but we promised our kids we'd go every 5 years, and we were overdue. We have found a hotel that has amenities we LOVE, and we get park hopper passes so we don't have to squeeze it all into one day, though we end up doing full days and nights anyway. I really enjoy the trips, though Lee has to talk himself into having fun (because he spent way too much time at Disneyland as a kid). How did we ever enjoy Disneyland as kids without a 3 day park hopper pass? WAITING ON MAIN STREET FOR THE PARK TO OPEN...WE'RE NOT TIRED YET PLAYING NON STOP CAN MAKE YOU FEEL A LITTLE "MAD" OK. NOW WE'RE TIRED. THIS IS IN THE ELEVATOR OF OUR HOTEL AT 11:30PM ON DAY 3
