We're all a little Nutty

Lizzie's goal for the summer was to learn how to ride a bike without training wheels. (Mckay is on the roller blades, Ian is on the tricycle, and Lizzie is in the distance with the white shirt on.) This is her 3rd time across the parking lot at the church. Talk about easy! It only took 5 minutes and she was a pro! Having a campout whenever they want is the highlight of summer. Lizzie and Dillon had horrible coughs so Mckay didn't want to sleep in the same tent with them (our tents were indoors thanks to the rain), so Mckay rigged up his own tent in his room and slept in it for days. It still scares me to see Ian swinging in a regular swing, but he LOVES it! We weren't sure if Ian would have any idea what was going on with his birthday festivities, but we guessed right that he would love the cakes we decorated for him. When he walked into the kitchen after his nap and saw these, he was SO excited! This is actually the third or fourth time Ian tried to blow out his candles. ...

I was apparently going crazy with school being out and needed something to put my creative energy into...so I played a great joke on Lee. He had been whining because we didn't have any more AA batteries and his electric toothbrush was dead. I hate paying more than I should for things, so I refused to buy them til I went to Sam's Club and told him I'd get them eventually. (Plus, is it really that hard to brush your teeth with a normal toothbrush for 2 or 3 days??) Anyway, to bug me, he said, "Never mind. I'll just pick some up at Maverick." His comment got the reaction out of me that he wanted. I said something like, "You'd better not. That's a waste of money." So, I finally made it to Sam's Club the next day, and picked up the biggest pack of AA batteries they had, which cost $17. Then, I came home and found a logo for Maverick convenience stores, and crafted myself a receipt. I left it under the gigantic package of batteries in the bathr...
