Celebrating the Season With Soggy Goblins and other Delicate Things

Fall break led us on a circuit through Southeastern Utah to explore some of our favorite sights and enjoy the fall weather.  That was the plan anyway.  Most of our itinerary was modified because of weather.  Here were the things the weather allowed:

FLASH FLOODS -- in tents and through nearby canyons

Watching EROSION in action as we wandered through the goblins in the mud and drizzling rain.  In all the times we have been there, we have NEVER seen even a puddle of water!

PRETENDING to fall off a cliff above Lake Powell and the Colorado River.
 Natural Bridges National Monument
A camp fire to keep us warm after dinner.  (For those of you that have camped with Lee, you know this is a big deal!)
Waking up with FROST on our heads, literally.
Hiking around Fisher Towers, east of Moab.
A roadside picnic, complete with llama eyes.
Hiking to DELICATE ARCH. (Along with 100s of other people!)

One last hike as the sun set.
And a SAFE DRIVE home.
It was a short but fun getaway.
